Intrepid Gearfly Fly ReelThe Gearfly was the up market reel from Intrepid. Very much in the style of the rim fly, the reel has a 3" spool. Where this model differs is that the spindle, which is quick release, as is the spool, operates a gearing mechanism in the back of the reel cage multiplying the rate of retreive, very useful on stillwaters or shallow rivers. The drag can be changed by using the thumbscrew on the rim. The reel is also designed for left or right hand use dependant upon which check is used in the rear. This model is the slimmer version for trout fishing. There is a hairline crack in the cage which wouldn't prevent this from being used but it is being sold priced for just a spool and central shaft assembly

J W Young Gildex Multiplying ReelManufactured by J W Young of Redditch, this Gildex (unbadged) is their multiplier for freshwater lure fishing. It has twin handles for balance, optional check and a drag lever adjacent to the handle. It also has a level wind facility for smooth line lay on the spool to extend the casting distance. The tip of the check switch has been chipped but it doesn't affect the operation.

J W Young Pridex 3.5" diameter fly reelThis fly reel is in very good condition. With a 3.5" diameter and slightly wider than the dedicated trout reels means this reel could also be used for sea trout having larger spool capacity and has a quick release spool for facilitating rapid line changeover.
