Apollo "Devon" tubular steel rodAt a time shortly after the Second World War when greenheart and cane were difficult to obtain, Accles and Pollack developed a technique for manufacturing tubular steel rods. Apollo Taperflash 14' steel rodJust after WWII when bamboo from China was very difficult to get hold of, many companies tried other materials. Perhaps the most successful of these attempts was by Accles & Pollack and their Apollo range of rods made from thin-walled steel tubing. The one that became most famous is the Taperflash, used by many. This rod is a four piece (three with detachable butt) making a 14' float rod. The rod has a cork handle and hard chromed butt and tip rings.

Hardy "Crown Houghton" Fly Rod with Tip TubeThis rod is a hardy Split cane three piece rod with two tips. The rod is 10'6" long with locking ferrules, reversible butt spear, bridge rings with agate lined but and tip rings (one tip ring has been replaced but the tip is he correct length) and a bamboo tip tube with brass tightly fitting cap. This rod comes with a copy of a letter from Hardy showing the day of manufacture was July 7th 1911 when it was refurbished in 1977 and is in excellet condition. A great rod for the fisherman or the collector to grace his study.
