This reel is a classic in simplicity, the Intrepid Envoy has an adjustable drag on the spool front, switchable check from the lever at the rear, and a bail arm which is operated by hitting the reel leg upon winding.  It couldn't be easier and that made this manufacturer of reels very successful, and renown for their reliability.  A make of reel that everybody started with in my generation.
