On the 17th November 2006, at a location in Buckinghamshire, two of the angling legends of our time met with Keith Elliott, editor of Classic Angling, to informally recall their life and times.
The gentlemen concerned were:-
Frederick Buller & Fred J. Taylor, MBE
Their conversation was a good-natured recollection between two old friends. A fly-on-the-wall professional recording was made which lasted for several hours. After sympathetic editing, this is now being produced on 2 cds.
The recording is unique, and has been transcribed and edited into a special book released in Spring 2010. This truly special edition will include CD's of their conversation, and a transcript of the recording. It will also include a piece written by Fred J. Taylor, MBE on Fred Buller, and vice versa. Also included in the leather-bound, and quarter-bound copies will be four caricatures of Fred & Fred by leading artist, Ted Andrews (a limited edition signed set of prints can be purchased through this site), a former close friend of Fred J's, together with some previously unseen photographs.
The first recording has lead to the formation of a charitable trust, Angling Heritage (UK), the purpose of which will be to make future recordings, and conserve written and photographic material of our greatest anglers, and will be launched on the 9th February, 2009, which would have been Fred J's 90th birthday, and this book will be dedicated to him. All nett proceeds from the sales of the book will be donated by River Reads
The music chosen to introduce and close this recording is: Back to the Island by Phil Coulter. Listen to brief sound-clips of Fred and Fred talking about their books, by visiting the Bibliographies' section of this website.
The following formats are being produced to try to cater to every budget :-

The response to Recollections I has been astonishing, with recipients already reserving copies of RII, RIII & RIV. My sincerest thanks to everyone for their wonderful comments, some of which will appear on this page in due course. All in all, it augers well for the future of Angling Heritage (UK) and what we hope to achieve in preserving angling history.
Most importantly; the Trustees wish to congratulate our Patron, Fred Buller on his very well deserved award of an MBE in the 2010 New Year's Honours' list for services to angling. Congratulations Fred; we're proud of you.
